The last ten years have seen an increased interest in natural playgrounds, with studies recognizing that exposure to non-traditional play equipment can increase cognitive development, group cooperation, and physical fitness.
Several clients, both private families and community childcare centers, have expressed a desire for nature play opportunities. This can include boulder scrambles, stump courses, and climbing logs. We’re excited to see the boulder scramble for our ‘Modern Farmhouse Dream’ project in Amherst start to come together!
Shade trees and woodland plantings will provide the finishing touches to this play space for the season. In the spring, we will add more play features including balancing logs, a rope climbing structure, and a swing. We are happy to design a place for our clients to enjoy together, and look forward to working with them in the future, adding new and challenging features as their children grow.
